You can make your pet smell fresh and sweet with this easy to make recipe. You can also add essential oils to animal shampoo to fight bad odors.
To 8 oz. (240 ml) of an all-natural shampoo, add:
- 3 drops Roman Chamomile
- 2 drops Geranium
- 7-8 drops Lavender
- 3 drops Sweet Marjoram
Bath your pet as needed, be sure to keep the shampoo away from the eyes and ears. Also watch for symptoms of sensitivity or discomfort if the pet experiences any irritation to the scent from the essential oil blend.
On a damp, rainy day, you can help remove that “wet dog” smell with the following quick and easy spray.
To 1 cup of distilled water, add:
- 10 drops Lavender
- 6 drops Sweet Orange
- 6 drops Peppermint
- 3 drops Eucalyptus
Mix well in a spray bottle. While spraying your dog, make sure to avoid the head, cover their eyes and face to protect them, and spray the mixture all over your dog’s body. You can even use the mixture to help with pet smell around the room.
